Inspiration is a shy creature. It doesn’t arrive when summoned or stay when admired. It slips in sideways, while you’re half-awake, mid-shower, staring at nothing.

It taps you once before vanishing, but not like a lightning strike.

It’s a door left slightly ajar, just waiting for you to have the courage to step through before your mind convinces you it was never there at all.

You know, everyone has a word or phrase they always say. Sometimes you say it so much, it becomes apart of you.
